MOOver and STRATTON RESORT ANNOUNCE NEW BUS ROUTE

STRATTON, VT:   Stratton Mountain Resort and The MOOver (Southeast Vermont Transit) will partner on a new public transit route from Stratton to Manchester Center starting November 15, 2021 and running daily until April 1, 2022.

In preparation for the 2021/2022 season, Stratton Mountain Resort has invested in employee housing and public transportation beyond the resort’s property. Through this investment, Stratton has added 150 employee housing beds, and with the addition of the MOOver service, runs buses between Stratton Mountain and Manchester daily for employees and the local community.

The fare free, two-bus service runs from the Stratton Village to six stops in Manchester. There will be four early morning round trips and two-four late afternoon trips.  The stops are Stratton Village, the Econolodge, the Travelodge, Manchester Town Offices, Walgreens, behind Northshire Bookstore, and the Travelodge Chalet Annex. The bus will also stop anywhere along the route where it is safe to pull completely off the road. It will connect with buses going to/from Albany, Bennington, and Rutland.

The MOOver has operated resort and community public transit service in the Mount Snow Region for 25 years. In 2015 it merged with the Current to provide service to 30 additional southeastern Vermont towns. The MOOver provided over 524,000 rides pre-pandemic and has 27 routes in Windham and southern Windsor Counties. Its last new route was the Wilmington-Bennington route that started June 9, 2012.

Riders can download the Transit app which will show where the buses are and also provides an estimate of when the bus will arrive where the rider is standing. All riders and drivers are required to wear face masks while onboard the bus.
